Hi there, I'm Christie!

I'm a mother of 11-year-old twins, and have a great deal of life experience dealing with many of the issues my patients face.

My focus

I work with clients with mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I work with couples dealing with infertility, relational violence, child abuse, and LGBTQ issues. In addition, I work with school issues, and I am a credentialed school counselor.

My approach

I use a client-centered approach, cognitive behavioral techniques, and intergenerational, family approaches. I also use solution-focused approaches and reality-testing work with relational violence. I am accepting all sexual orientations and identities, and have worked with HIV-positive patients in the past.

My communication style

I use direct communication and strive to be completely honest with clients. I will be supportive and understanding while working through challenging issues.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was always interested in psychology and came from a family that struggled with many issues, including divorce and some abuse. After receiving a degree, I wanted to work with young children. After spending a great deal of time working in schools, I've also experienced infertility firsthand and am a mother of twins.

My goals for you

Goal setting is done in collaboration with clients. Clients will identify what goals are important to them, and I will assist in making a plan to reach those goals.
