Hi, My name is Jose Gonzalez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with clients ages 3-98 years old. I believe that everyone deserves fair, good, and quality care.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies depending on where the client is at in treatment. I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
My focus
I have experience working in many different Mental Health Services capacities. I feel privileged to work with individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and all other mental illness.
My communication style
My communication style is approachable, calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I would like my clients to be comfortable and feel safe to share in sessions what they are not able to share outside of sessions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I first fell in love with therapy while working with individuals with developmental disabilities (Autism, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disability). I then furthered my education and obtained my Masters in Psychology Marriage and Family Therapy and learned to work with severe mental illness in many capacities.
My goals for you
I am a firm believer that treatment should be client driven. I like to empower my clients to take control of their treatment and goals and utilize me as a support system.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will introduce myself, talk about limits to confidentiality, policies, and procedures to sessions, mandated reporting, assess clients, and answer any questions.
