My name is Angela Casares and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and young adults and specialize in trauma, anxiety, and stress. I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Positive Psychology to help clients feel better and make improvements in their daily lives.
My approach
My approach varies based on the needs and goals of each client. I use a person-centered, strengths-based, and mindfulness approach. I also utilize Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Positive Psychology to help clients increase their self-awareness and learn tools to improve their emotional well-being.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are experiencing trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, stress, depression, and going through life transitions. I also have experience working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma, domestic violence, grief and loss, and problems in relationships.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. My goal is to create a safe space for my clients to feel comfortable and feel heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always liked to help others including my family, friends, and peers. Throughout my life, I have also had people who were encouraging and supportive of me. I realized that being a therapist allows me to also be a person who can be supportive, encouraging and provide hope to others.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify their own goals for therapy.
My first session with you
During the first session, I will listen actively, ask questions about the reason for seeking therapy and how you are feeling recently. It is an opportunity to build an initial connection and learn more about you before discussing goals for therapy.
