I'm excited to join RULA as a Therapist. I'm a highly experienced Therapist (LCSW) with 20 years of experience. I have worked across various Behavioral Health Programs.
My approach
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. My therapeutic approach draws upon modalities including Complicated Grief Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Humanistic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a Strengths-Based approach.
My focus
I have experience serving unique populations including Hispanic families, adults, children and adolescents in need. I love working with teens and have spent most of my career helping adolescent clients in Merced and Stanislaus Counties navigate school stressors, heartbreak, conflict with friends, trauma, bereavement, identity development, and family difficulties.
My communication style
I believe in fostering open, honest dialogue where you feel heard and validated. My communication style is warm, direct, and supportive. I listen attentively and ask questions to ensure I understand your unique perspective. I provide feedback and insights with empathy and without judgment. Together, we'll engage in meaningful conversations to help you navigate life's challenges and work towards your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I received my bachelors degree in criminal justice and substance abuse from Stanislaus State University. I then earned my Masters in Social Work from California State University Stanislaus, receiving specialized training in substance abuse addiction. I was instrumental in bringing the Substance Abuse Program to Stanislaus State University through a leadership program.

My goal is to genuinely connect with you and engage in meaningful conversations to help you navigate lifes challenges. I aim to provide the support and guidance you need to develop coping skills, manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, and make positive changes.
My first session with you
In our first session, I look forward to getting to know you, understanding your unique story and what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your goals and how I can best support you. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share openly. Together we will begin the collaborative process of helping you move towards healing and growth.
