Hi there, I'm Mayra!

I am formerly undocumented. My goal in therapy is to identify the different areas of your life that are being impacted and ensure that we find direction while not forgetting that many areas need focus. I support individuals and couples in need of reproductive mental health.

My focus

I largely work with first-generation individuals who are often navigating some of the cultural nuances that may exist in their family and lives. I have a passion for helping individuals and families navigate struggles in reproductive health and the mental health impact that experience has on them.

My approach

I take a holistic and client-centered approach in your sessions. I tend to use a more cognitive behavioral approach by discussing thoughts and feelings and working to challenge those when appropriate.

My communication style

I like to be direct and open in our mutual communication while also considering the impact and power of my words in the room. I remain aware of my responsibility in our therapeutic relationship, so I aim to be honest and gentle as we navigate your needs.

Therapy is my passion and my purpose. Through the relationships and the work with my clients, I feel that I am making a difference and leaving a mark in the world.

Our first session will consist of me explaining the therapeutic process to you and what you can expect from me. I want to hear what brought you to therapy and what is leading you to seek out support. I will take a few sessions to get more background information and get to know you better.
