As a licensed independent practitioner in California and Massachusetts, I bring decades of experience in treating the mental health needs of individuals and families across a wide range of settings. With an M.S.W. from Boston University, I have worked in schools, outpatient clinics, developmental services, healthcare, and private practice.
My approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, with you in the driver's seat. I combine evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, family systems approach, psycho-education, and mindfulness practice to tailor treatment to best meet your unique needs. I firmly believe in the power of connection and knowledge to weather life's challenges.
My focus
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, parenting issues, family systems, relationships, developmental issues, medically involved children, and aging. I am willing to see minors (ages 13-17), couples, individuals, and families.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, empathetic, and direct. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported. Through active listening and thoughtful questions, we will work together to gain insight and develop practical strategies for positive change.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep desire to help others navigate life's complexities. Earning my M.S.W. from Boston University in 1991 set me on a path of lifelong learning and service. From 1999-2001, I completed clinical hours for licensure at the Department of Developmental Services in Worcester and Community Healthlink Lipton Center in Leominster, MA, gaining invaluable experience across diverse populations and settings.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the tools, insights, and support needed to overcome challenges, foster personal growth, and achieve a greater sense of well-being. Whether you're facing a difficult life transition, grappling with relationship issues, or seeking to manage anxiety or depression, I am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and fulfillment.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will take time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I will listen closely to understand your unique story, concerns, and goals. Together, we will begin to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and preferences. You can expect a warm, collaborative environment where you feel safe sharing and exploring.
