My communication style

My counseling sessions are a chance for you to explore whatever you are thinking or feeling, without fear of judgment or criticism. I am here to listen attentively and to understand, as well as to help clients see how their life experiences may have distorted their view of the world around them.

My journey to mental healthcare

I like helping people. I made a career change into counseling in my mid-30s after working with my Counselor to address my mental health struggles. Through our efforts, I came to realize how fulfilled I feel when I can help someone else navigate a difficult situation and learn how to more healthily perceive and function in the world around them.

My goals for you

We will build your emotional vocabulary so you can understand where feelings come from, why they impact you the way they do, and how you can learn to better tolerate them to reduce their negative impact on your thoughts and behaviors.

Our first session

I like to use the Intake Session as an opportunity to get to know each other. Yes, we will review confidentiality, expectations, and boundaries, but the majority of the session will be spent discussing what brings you to therapy, what you believe is important for me to know about you.
