It is so nice to meet the brave people who are wanting to address their mental health. My practice is as a generalist, so we can address a wide range of topics. Somatic psychotherapy is used to integrate the body and mind. If previous trauma or stress was a part of your life, we can explore together how to work with the past, present, and future.
My focus
With trauma being stored in the body, somatic therapy techniques can assist a person to address underlying causes of nervous system dysregulation. Those struggling with mental health labels such as depression or anxiety will explore a new way to manage symptoms. Clients and therapists will explore regulation, relaxation, and somatic techniques.
My approach
Over thirty years of meditation and yoga led me to somatic psychotherapy as a very useful technique in managing a variety of diagnoses. Clients will learn about nervous system regulation through breath, awareness, and openness to experiencing new awarenesses and skills relative to mental health conditions.
