I am Rebecca Turgeon, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who is passionate about working with those who are between the ages of 18 and midlife that struggle with focus, organization, and creating a life which is in alignment with them. Through creating mindset, executive functioning skills, mindfulness and strength and values identification you can grow the life you want to lead.
My approach
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Values exploration, Positive Psychology, Solution Focus, Mindfulness and Meditation, Life skills, and Executive Functioning.
My focus
College Students to midlife who may have ADHD, Depression and Anxiety symptoms.
My communication style
Supportive, Safe, direct, action-oriented.
My journey to mental healthcare
Growing up I saw the need for services who understood ADHD as there were not too many providers there who understood it, especially those who were female. I saw the impact it has, especially as individuals aged out of child and adolescent supports into adulthood, whether it be in the college classroom or in the workforce. Having a space to be able to feel comfort and open to share the experience of ADHD is important.
My goals for you
Understanding where you are with the idea of change. Understanding where you want to be at the end of services and what is important for you to work on. Collaborative approach to goals.
My first session with you
A supportive environment, that is non-judgmental, someone who listens and asks questions about their experience of symptoms, this clinician is thorough and wants to make sure they understand what has been happening over the first few sessions, you may have things to do at the end of the session. This therapist believes that the work you do in session is just as important as what you do outside of session.
