Hi there, I'm Rosemarie!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. My focus of practice is working with individuals, families, and marriage therapy. I also have experience working with trauma-related issues.

My focus

I enjoy working with married couples and parents who are struggling. I have also worked significantly with clients who have experienced trauma in their lives, in particular, sexual abuse. Helping clients with stress and anxiety is also a population I enjoy helping.

My approach

My approach in therapy tends to be client-centered. I use behavioral therapy, including cognitive behavioral recognition. I also like to give helpful assignments for clients to work on in between sessions. I also use a mindfulness approach to focus on the current issues.

My communication style

I feel it’s important to create a non-judgmental environment. I work on creating a place for clients to feel safe and to know that they are being listened to. Prior clients have shared with me that I don’t take sides in marriage and family issues. They have also said they find it easy to talk with me.

My journey to mental healthcare

My first experience was in the education field, particularly elementary school. As I was attempting to teach some children, they had a difficult time since their family life was in crisis. This made me want to pursue a career in counseling children and their families. I love helping individuals and families grow as people.

My goals for you

The approach I prefer in setting goals is to look at what each individual wants to achieve or change in their life. We can then set the therapy goals together.

During the first session, I want to get to know the issues bringing one to therapy. I also want to explore the individual and family history of each client.
