My communication style

Therapy is a mutual commitment. I will ask you to complete homework, maybe read or listen to a book, come up with a list of goals you have for yourself. I can give you the tools, but you have to pick them up and use them. I use humor a great deal in my sessions when it is appropriate. My clients tell me it's refreshing.

My journey to mental healthcare

I knew I was very compassionate and had great empathy. I decided to pursue psychotherapy after working with foster children experiencing the challenges of souls who had never known permanence, only abandonment. I made a decision to find one strength in each child. Trust was imperative. Heart-nurturing therapy was the way to go.

My goals for you

I will adapt to whatever style of treatment goals you want to make. Often clients discover things and traits about themselves later on as we work together. Therapy is a developing tool we hold on to as we ourselves develop in new, enriching ways. I welcome feedback. The absolute need for communication is key between therapist and client.

Our first session

I put my client at ease by checking with them and explaining it's normal to be apprehensive. We slowly warm to each other, and I explain how they can trust the process regarding confidentiality, consent, and feedback. I want to understand my client's truth or pain and how I can help.
