My communication style

I aim to have a calm, supportive, and respectful environment. I balance empathy and nurturing with honesty and directness. I provide concrete tools for change, and with your agreement, I share books, articles, YouTube videos, and homework assignments. I hope you will feel supported by me and that we are in a partnership to achieve your goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

As a teenager, I entered therapy with a social worker who helped me a lot. Subsequently, in college, I earned a Social Work Degree because I wanted to help people, as my social worker had helped me. I continue to be passionate about assisting individuals to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilled lives.

My goals for you

After hearing the reasons you came to Rula, together we define your goals, and I explain my thoughts and techniques for achieving them. Regularly, I check with you to see how the therapy is going and what, if anything, we want to do differently.

Our first session

At our first meeting, I will collect background information and focus on what brings you to Rula. If you have not been in therapy before, I will explain how it works and what to expect. I will also share my background and my therapeutic approach and style. Also, I provide time and opportunity for you to ask questions.
