My journey to mental healthcare

I was a medical-surgical nurse. I found out that most patients on my floor were struggling with mental illness. But as medical-surgical nurses, we only focus on medical illness, neglecting mental illness. I realized that I can make a difference in treating patients struggling with both medical and mental illness.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with my clients with the use of a collaborative process where clients are responsible for setting their own goals, while I, as a provider, will assist by managing realistic expectations. I also conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand the client's thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and aspirations.

Our first session

During your first psychiatry appointment, I will do a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation with my patients, whereby they will let me know their mental health struggles.
