Hi there, I'm Christina!

My name is Christina Baffuto and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with clients based in Georgia via Telehealth. I primarily work with individuals ages 25-45 but also have years of experience working with children and adolescents. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and processing life changes, and grief. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy to help my clients feel more in control and help them feel better throughout all the seasons of life.

My approach

I tend to primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but this varies depending on my client's needs. I also use Dialectical Behavioral therapy as needed. I find that these modalities help my clients build skills to help them in their daily lives and feel prepared for taking on life's challenges as we navigate through the therapy process.

My focus

I find my style tends to be helpful for anyone going through life challenges that need support, encouragement, and assistance in processing these changes. Being able to talk to a third party person, not involved in your everyday life, can be extremely helpful in processing in a nonjudgemental and positive way. I find this is often people going through life changes, whether it is a major life change, relationship troubles, grief, and loss, or overall anxiety and depression.

My communication style

My communication style is very positive, and encouraging. I am open and kind and hope this helps my clients feel comfortable so that they will feel open to discussing anything they are open to and know that they will not be judged.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a therapist when I took my first few counseling classes in college. I have always been a helper and a listening ear for friends and family, and when I heard more about human behavior, this helped me understand so much about my own life and my behaviors and emotions, it made me want to help others learn this as well. I love helping people express their feelings find the freedom and relief that come from expressing yourself and find the skills to help process and work through life's challenges in healthy ways. I have such a passion for helping people and seeing people find the strength they have always had!

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is to hear from each client about what their expectations are from counseling and how I can help in the process. I like to work together with my clients to discuss this and take time to figure this out together to help my clients get where they would like to be in life.

My first session with you

In the first session, I like to hear about your life- what are your interests, goals, expectations, challenges, and anything you are comfortable with sharing? I also like to talk about the therapy process, answer any questions you may have, and ease any fears or reservations you may have!
