My communication style

I have a very warm and inviting style. I want my clients to feel comfortable while they're in session and feel free to open and engage. I focus on communicating in a way that is clear and simple so that any client will understand what I am saying.

My journey to mental healthcare

As an undergraduate, I realized I was passionate about helping people. I obtained my BA in psychology and then spent two years teaching life skills to at-risk youths in schools. After getting my Master's in 2007, I went into the non-profit sector, school system, and local mental health agencies before starting my own practice in 2020.

My goals for you

I work collaboratively with my clients when it comes to setting and reaching their goals. It is important for me to identify what the client wants to achieve with their sessions, and I offer suggestions/recommendations as needed. I believe in creating solutions and strategies with my clients and really customizing a plan that involves their input.

Our first session

In our first session, I give my clients the ability to talk in detail about their current symptoms, stressors, and issues, and share how their lives are being impacted by these. I also obtain their treatment history, trauma history, and family history. Lastly, I give my clients the ability to identify their goals/preferences and ask any questions.
