I treat therapy as a way to gain perspective on life's challenges. Therapy is a type of self-care, and most people would benefit from the experience. I hope society moves away from using mental health services only in crisis, but as a way to maintain good mental health.
My focus
I work primarily with older adolescents and adults, providing individual counseling. I see clients dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency, and self-esteem issues. I am comfortable exploring suicidal ideation. Boundary work and communication skills are also areas that typically present themselves.
My approach
I typically work with CBT and DBT treatment modalities. I enjoy helping clients identify the feelings experienced that relate to the behaviors exhibited. The ability to gain insight into one's behavior is a skill that will forever positively serve a client.
