We will explore your past to further identify its impact on your present and future. Open, clear, and transparent communication is necessary. I understand that it takes time to build rapport and ensure the level of comfort needed for meaningful conversation.

My journey to mental healthcare

Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, I was a religious education teacher at my church. Recognizing the need to address all the mental health related challenges with the individuals I worked with, I decided to transition to becoming a mental health provider after 11 years of teaching.

My goals for you

In our initial session (usually called the intake), we will identify areas of support and collaboratively create goals. We will work towards these goals by having periodical check-ins on where the client feels the goals are met, which areas require further attention, and any adjustments to be made to reach goals.

Our first session

During the first session, we will begin to build rapport through introductions and identify goals to achieve. This will require an in-depth exploration of your history and evaluation so that we can identify where you need support and set goals together.
