My name is Jennifer Pamintuan and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing therapy for four years. My approach to therapy is a collaboration with my client. Together, we navigate through the issues that bring them to the session, focus on turning individuals inward, identifying strengths, and assisting each person to find his/her natural feelings so individuals may rely on them.
My approach
I provide therapy through Mindfulness, Solution Focused, CBT, psycho-education, and Crisis Intervention, and focus on the strengths of each individual. Throughout therapy, I assist clients in finding natural abilities and feelings, as well as assist each individual in being grounded in their health. I believe that therapy is uncovering what has been hidden or clouded by thought. Often, we have set rules for ourselves to follow that may not be healthy or beneficial to our well-being. Starting, I share with clients the importance of turning inward to take care of ourselves through mindfulness and understanding thought. Throughout therapy, depending on issues or feelings that may arise I utilize other approaches. I am also trained in Gottman Level 1.
My focus
I enjoy working with clients who may be experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Mental Health disorders, going through life changes, and having a difficult time understanding their own feelings.
My communication style
The environment of my therapy is comfortable, open, and curious to new ideas. I like to take a collaborative approach to therapy, letting clients know that "we are a team." I am caring and supportive of my clients while also being very honest. While clients are learning, I am learning as well. I am open to feedback and open to changing the direction of therapy at the client's request.
My journey to mental healthcare
I wanted to be a therapist because I value relationships between people and I would like to help relieve unease with individuals who I have the opportunity to meet. I believe that people are born healthy and that they have natural abilities and feelings.

Through a collaborative effort between myself and the client. Clients usually bring up their feelings, issues, and goals; and, together, we come up with goals.
My first session with you
The first session is mainly information sharing between myself and the client. While we are learning about each other, we are also establishing rapport.
