Hi, my name is Samantha King, M.S., MFT, LMHC. I have worked with diverse populations and helped address client concerns through different positions in the field of mental health. I believe that good therapy comes from collaboration with my client.
My approach
Each client I see has an overarching goal for his or her life that helps us develop a treatment plan for our sessions. I often use cognitive behavioral therapies, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and interpersonal psychotherapy depending on individual needs.
My focus
I have worked with residential eating disorder clients, systemic at-risk youth, and individual therapy treating various struggles including anxiety, depression, couples, families, and more.
My communication style
I believe the client is the expert in his or her own life. I am here to develop your coping skills and to help you explore your strengths. I want to learn about your background and experiences that have shaped who you are today.
My journey to mental healthcare
My attraction to a career in counseling comes from my passion for working and learning about people from diverse populations to help them gain clarity and skills to navigate through life in a healthy and positive way. I find it interesting and intriguing and love a challenge we can work on together.
My goals for you
Goal setting comes from collaboration with my client. I work to create goals that are measurable so we can continue to modify our treatment plan and therapy direction in the most effective way to address overarching goals throughout our time working together.
