Hi there, I'm Gabrielle!

If you are feeling like life isn't quite what you expected it to be, or spinning out of control even, I'm here. Maybe you've recently moved, started a new job, ended a relationship, are a new parent, or anything that is making you feel lost and unsure of what to do. My job is to help guide and support you in overcoming change and challenges.

My focus

I work with adults who want help with adjusting - whether that is general anxiety and depression in everyday life, a life change, or healing from a traumatic event. Adjustment can vary greatly, and I am here to help with it. I will help you with building personalized coping skills and processing your experiences.

My approach

You know yourself better than anyone. My goal is to help you remember that and build confidence; I'm here to help you re-frame your thinking, offer solutions, and to be a sounding board. I have an eclectic approach that adapts to you, based on several modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT).

My communication style

I lead with acceptance and support, which creates a warm and welcoming environment for our sessions. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences as an accepting and empathetic partner. Even when processing difficult feelings or events, you can expect me to be there as a support and guide for you.

My journey to mental healthcare

I gained interest in therapy while working to support trauma survivors in a legal non-profit. Learning about trauma directly from those that experienced it, taught me the strength and courage that it takes to ask for help. Additionally, I've since gone on to immerse myself in therapy for expecting/new parents and for those facing life changes.

Therapy is a partnership. As a team, we’ll explore, set goals, and make changes that are important to you. As we reach new insights, we’ll adapt your plan to your needs and to get you where you want to be.

Our first session

We will get to know you and your current situation, identifying what led you to seek therapy. Your first session is a place to be yourself, in which you will find that I am here to accept you and support you. From there we can look at possible goals and if I am a good fit for helping you reach those goals.
