Hi there, I'm Ja'Nera!

I'm a Louisiana native who has almost 10 years of experience in the clinical setting. I've worked in various settings, including clinical, federal, intensive inpatient, school, and prison rehabilitative settings. In that work, I've developed skills to manage even the most complex disorders. I'm also an EMDR trained.

My focus

I'm comfortable working with a variety of clients from all stages of life. I have experience with treating anxiety, personality disorders, mood disorders, attachment issues, depression, substance use, and related disparities.

My approach

I am trauma-focused, with experience in various therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, MI, psychodynamic, and attachment-focused therapy.

I prioritize open, compassionate, and candid communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I've had consistent feedback and ratings of being so thought-provoking, helpful, and that "I just get it".

My journey to mental healthcare

I was a former pre-Nursing student who had an epiphany and decided that physical health wasn't the only pathway to healing.

We discuss this as a collaborative approach during the intake process. Our first session is data gathering to discuss the treatment process, temrination and objectives.

It's basically information gathering, identifying and prioritizing goals, and discussing the treatment process in its entirety. From there, we discuss meeting times, and I provide tangible resources to use until we meet for the official session.
