Hi there, I'm Wende!

I have experience in both community mental health and private practice. I work with anyone over 13 to those at the end of life.

My focus

I have worked with clients from all walks of life who have chronic and non-chronic mental illnesses. I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am comfortable working with people who experience anxiety, depression, OCD, and general life struggles, such as marriage, divorce, and parenting issues.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is very eclectic. I believe it is important to meet my patients where they are and not where I want them to be. I also believe it's important for my patients to be able to tell me if they feel that something we're doing is not working for them, as I believe that people know more about themselves than they think they do.

My communication style

Working with clients, my sessions are casual and relaxed with a focus on listening to what people have to say and honoring their experiences and beliefs.

My journey to mental healthcare

I spent several years as a mother and working in a variety of jobs, and then decided I wanted to go back to school to earn my counseling degree. I wrote my doctoral thesis on parents who are raising children with mental illness.

My goals for you

In working with clients, I want to focus on what is your goal and then help you decide whether that is attainable and realistic. If a goal isn't attainable, we look at what comes closer to what you want to do or how you want your life to be, and how we make that work for you.
