I'm a sex therapist who enjoys working with couples and helping them turn their struggles into triumphs.

My focus

I work with motivated couples who are willing to do the work to strengthen their relationship.

My approach

I use the Gottman Method and Developmental Model of couples counseling. I incorporate somatic tools to help with emotional regulation, which often gets in the way of communicating effectively. I also use Internal Family Systems to address trauma triggers that interfere with relating.

My communication style

I'm light-hearted and appreciate humor, but I am not neutral. If you are engaging in unhelpful behaviors, I will call them out.

My journey to mental healthcare

I grew up in a Christian Latino home where sex was not talked about. The vibe was that it was sinful to think about as a single person and a duty as a married person. This was confusing to me and drove me to seek information in any way I could. I made a lot of uninformed choices that conflicted with my values along the way.

I focus on what you can do as an individual member of a relationship. I encourage you to take responsibility for yourself and how you show up in the relationship.
