Hi there, I'm Audra!

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) working with clients throughout the state of Kansas via telehealth. I work with a variety of age ranges, including children 5+, adolescents, and adults.

My focus

I have found that my approach tends to appeal to clients who are struggling with building strong and healthy relationships, who struggle with managing big emotions, who are having difficulty adjusting to life transitions, and who are struggling to heal from past experiences.

My approach

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of my clients. I tend to utilize a client-centered approach in which we create a partnership where I accept and value my clients unconditionally to help them gain insight and understanding of their experiences.

My communication style

My communication style is friendly, light-hearted, and accepting. One of my strengths is how quickly I build trust by creating a safe space with comfort, playfulness, and listening without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist started with much difficulty in deciding what to major in when I went to college, as I first enrolled to major in education. I officially changed my major four times, but in my head, I changed it at least eight times because teenager Audra felt overwhelmed by all of the choices.

My goals for you

My approach to goal-setting is again client-centered, which means that my clients have a lot of say on what they would like their goals to be. My job is to help design a plan to reach those goals through the reasonable expectations of my clients.

Our first session

I usually start off the first session with a few random facts about me to help break the ice and to help my clients feel like I am less of a stranger. I always tell my clients during the first session that this session is not nearly as much fun as the following sessions, but it is important.
