Hi there, I'm Jennifer!

I see therapy as a partnership and take a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. I find fulfillment in helping clients recover from trauma and develop healthy relationships. I am a member of the LGBTQ community and specialize in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness.

My focus

I focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community. I am most comfortable assisting clients in managing depression, anxiety, trauma, identity, and relationship issues.

My approach

I use a variety of approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness.

My communication style

I see therapy as a collaboration with my clients. I work together with clients to build a toolbox of skills and resources for them, making sure that it is tailored to the unique needs of each client.

My journey to mental healthcare

Since childhood, I have always wanted to help people. I considered many options, but found clinical social work to most closely align with my core beliefs regarding the importance of respecting and appreciating differences, as well as the important role the environment plays in our development.

My goals for you

I see myself as a GPS. I ask clients where they want to go and then offer different ways to get there. Ultimately, it's up to the client to decide which route will work best for them.

Our first session

Our first session will be spent getting to know each other. I encourage clients to ask me about my therapeutic approach and to let me know what they want to get out of therapy. If a client has been in therapy before, I always like to know what worked and what didn't work in prior treatments.
