My communication style

My number one goal is to create a safe environment, both physically and emotionally. This means I show up on time, am kind, invite you to share how therapy is feeling for you, consider what you share and tailor my approach, understand and hold myself to professional boundaries, and am gentle but honest in service of your goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

Most people who become therapists love someone who has experienced mental health issues. I am a wounded healer and, in part, became a therapist because I was seeking healing myselves. And along with being wounded, I was and am completely well and whole, and know, deep down, that real power starts from inside the human heart-mind.

My goals for you

I will be curious about what you hope to achieve during therapy, as well as your larger life goals. If you know what you want, it's much more likely you will get it. I listen for and encourage you to articulate not only what changes might help you function better, but also what future would make your heart sing.

Our first session

My preference is to allow the first session to develop as an organic conversation. I encourage you not to share anything you do not feel comfortable sharing. My goal is that you walk away with a sense of me and whether I am the right fit for you.
