Hi there, I'm Renae!

I bring the wisdom of age and experience to my work. I see individuals, adults, couples, and families, helping with depression, anxiety, ADHD, family conflict, relationship issues, job and career concerns, trauma, sexual abuse, and stress.

My focus

I work with couples, individuals, adults, and adolescents. I'm comfortable with almost any diagnosis and will consult or provide referrals if a concern needs further research, another clinician with more expertise, or a different level of care.

My approach

I'm eclectic, using a variety of approaches depending on whether I'm working with couples or individuals, adults or adolescents. I draw from CBT, Rogerian therapy, Gottman communication for couples, and Existential approaches. I also have a strong background in psychological testing when warranted.

My communication style

Most people say I'm very grounded, have common sense, and create a comfortable environment for people to share their concerns.

My journey to mental healthcare

I didn't intend to become a therapist. I started out in education but liked the psychology classes, so I obtained a double major. When teaching jobs weren't plentiful, I started my graduate work in counseling. I ended up loving counseling and never looked back.

My goals for you

I like to support clients in how they want to approach the time between sessions. We may set goals together, or you may volunteer your own. Goal setting is important, but only small steps are necessary to get started on the path to an inspiring life.

Our first session

Expect a relaxed session where we focus on the reason you're seeking therapy and what you're hoping to gain. We may not cover all your history in the first session. At the end, I'll share my recommendations for how we can work together to get the most value from our sessions.
