Hi there, I'm Abi!

I strive to take a trauma-conscious and client-centered approach to my practice, allowing the client to lead their treatment.

My focus

The majority of my clinical work has been with children and families. Most recently, I have worked with clients of all ages with a variety of diagnoses. I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults.

My approach

Most commonly, I pull from a systems or solutions-focused framework. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I strive to create a positive and comfortable space for clients. Utilizing humor when appropriate and speaking directly yet calmly when focusing on the tougher conversations.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have been interested in a career in mental health since 6th grade. I have always been drawn to a helping profession, but I knew I would never last in the medical field.

My approach to goal setting is client-driven. My clients are in control of their treatment and what areas of their lives they would like to focus on.

The first session will always be spent simply getting to know each other. It's equally as important that you know who I am and how I operate as a therapist, and I get a sense of who you are and what you would like to focus on during our time together.
