Hi there, I'm Shaleese!

I'm Shaleese Rockett, but people often call me Rockett. After working as a Social Worker for several years, I've developed a unique, holistic approach to therapy that integrates mind, body, and environment. My sessions often blend evidence-based techniques with creativity and humor, ensuring that we address your needs.

My focus

I enjoy working with Adults who are experiencing some burnout, exhaustion, compassion fatigue, and increased levels of stress in their current careers. I am comfortable treating anxiety-related disorders, depression, substance use disorders, postpartum depression, and cultural sensitivity struggles, alongside trauma-related disorders.

My approach

As a Clinician, I like to incorporate a blend of modalities within each session with those I am serving. I often lean into DBT, CBT, Solution Focused, Strength-Based, and components of EMDR, to name a few.

My communication style

My communication style incorporates a lot of laughter and sarcasm. I like to create a relaxed, comfortable space where you are able to open up and connect with your emotions.

My journey to mental healthcare

My path toward therapy includes working in various roles in case management, program management, shelters, treatment facilities, and being exposed to secondary trauma. After providing support in a non-clinical role, I found that I needed to continue my education to approach trauma from a more individualized process.

My goals for you

I like to approach goal setting at the pace and speed of my client. I will process your short-term, long-term, and extended goals. We will then work as a team, creating a treatment plan to obtain those goals.

Our first session

A lot of rapport building, a space to ask questions, and answer as many as possible. I will provide some psychoeducation and information on the body and emotions.
