My approaches change depending on the needs of my clients. However, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is what I use primarily to help my clients understand how their core beliefs and thoughts directly impact their feelings and reactions to things life throws at them. The key to resolving issues is to first understand how they are affecting us.
