Hi there, I'm Byron!

I pride myself in being an authentic clinician to build a warm, open, and challenging space for therapy. My work has typically been trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, impulse control issues, anger management, relationship/family issues, and personal development with children and adolescents.

My focus

I thoroughly enjoy working with children and adolescents. I would love to expand my work into the area of young adults. I am most comfortable working with personality cluster traits/disorder, anxiety, trauma, impulse control, anger issues, family conflict, parenting skills, communication skills, mood disorders, and personal development.

My approach

I have training in CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused Care, and looking to explore training in Geek (Gaming/Nerd/Pop Culture) in Therapy. LGBTQIA-friendly and person-centered approach to therapy.

My communication style

My communication style is often energetic, with seriousness and laughter when needed and appropriate. I want clients to feel that they can safely express themselves in sessions, even if we don't agree on some topics.

My journey to mental healthcare

I first aspired to become a therapist when I was about 17 years old. I often found joy in being an emotional support for my friends. As I've continued on my journey, I realize my drive comes from being the type of adult that I had hoped was there to help me when I was younger.

My goals for you

I prefer working with my clients to help them identify the pathways they want to create through therapy. It's my role to help guide my clients to reach the spaces they hope for in their lives.

Our first session

My first session is typically a time for both the client and me to get to know each other. I usually complete some assessments associated with the issues clients come into services to address. I also like to understand my clients' likes and interests, as they can be vital keys and teachable moments in therapy.
