I have dedicated my life to helping others define and create the life that they want. I believe that achieving mental health is similar to a "three-legged stool" consisting of affirming thoughts; behaviors and actions. I have earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. In addition, I have also earned certification as a Certified Personal Trainer.
My approach
I believe that in order to create and sustain a happy, well-balanced life we must make an intentional effort. This can prove to be difficult when experiencing the challenges of mental health and significant life transitions. My approach to assisting you with this is holistic. I utilize several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment. I work to meet you where you are and utilize the appropriate interventions.
My focus
I am passionate in my efforts to serve all those that are suffering from the challenges of mental health and life transitions. My goal is to help you to create and define the life you want.
My communication style
I believe that you are the expert of your life. I am an active listener; utilizing open-ended questions, reflection, and summaries to assist you in further clarifying your concerns and goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
The motivation to help others feels innate to me. Suffering and how it affects our lives became clear to me at a young age. Likewise, I also witnessed the overcoming of suffering. This inspired me to work to assist others in overcoming their challenges through work as a therapist. I have earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. In addition, I have also earned certification as a Certified Personal Trainer.
My goals for you
I believe successful therapeutic care enables a client to identify their values and that the outcome of successful therapy results in a person being able to live in congruency with their self-identified values.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will ask you to share with me your challenges and how they are affecting your life. We will then develop goals to help you to better manage and overcome these challenges.
