Therapy is, first and foremost, a commitment to yourself. I will be with you all the way, offering a supportive, collaborative approach. I have been doing this for over 2 decades, and have a lot of tools in my toolbox to share if and when needed or requested.
My focus
If you feel different and do not fit into societal norms, we will probably work very well together. You may be different in terms of sexual orientation, gender, race, culture, religion or simply because you don't share the values of mainstream culture. There's strength in difference and you'll find an affirming therapist in me!
My approach
My approach is collaborative, honest, and non-judgmental. My original training is in Humanistic psychology, which is all about how to be empathic, understanding and show unconditional positive regard. On top of that, I've taken many trainings over the years and am happy to share the tools I've learned with you if and when it seems appropriate!
