My communication style

I have learned over the years that my style of communication is one of openness, safety, acceptance and judgement free zone. I create a space where you can share anything and feel comfortable. There maybe times when what we explore is painful and unsettlingly as that happens you will feel my caring and support through the video setting.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started my journey in 1979, I have worked in substance abuse settings, mental health agencies, adolescent group homes and in patient psychiatric hospitals. During this time, I have also taken multiple trainings and came to the understanding that I wanted to go back to my beginnings and help clients reach their goals and potential.

My goals for you

Each session builds on another and depending on how you respond we create goals and objectives and at the end of sessions we discuss where we are in reaching those goals. There are times homework is given, it can be start self care, or mediation. Other times it is reviewing our session and what stands out to you & what have you processed all week.

Our first session

Our first session is a get to know you time, we explore what brought you to treatment at this time. We discuss what your goals are for treatment and at the end of our session we review if I met what you expected in our session. I ask if you felt safe and supported and if we should meet again next week.
