I often work with individuals struggling with sudden stressors, whether they anticipated the stressor occurring (e.g., aging, change in career, transitions, etc.) or the stressor was unexpected (e.g., loss, relationship difficulties, sudden change in mood, etc.).
My approach
I use a combination of cognitive behavioral, acceptance commitment, and dialectical behavior therapy techniques to guide our work. I like to address the issue head-on but with a gentle, curious approach so that the process never feels difficult or stressful.
