Hello and welcome. You've taken a big step in being here. I am a psychotherapist with more than 15 years of experience as a practitioner, social work educator, and supervisor.
My approach
I stay updated on the latest research while remaining grounded in my core philosophies and clinical training. I am committed to using the best approach that fits your needs, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic therapy, and others. My role will be to create a safe space, meet you where you are, listen, and offer support.
My focus
I have helped clients with various issues, including depression, anxiety, stress, Internet addiction, workplace issues, bullying, and harassment. I specialize in areas such as addiction, aging, anger management, bipolar disorder, grief, panic attacks, relationship issues, self-esteem, and more.
My communication style
Together we can work on clarifying your needs and attaining your goals. I will explore your needs and the issues you'd like to address in treatment, as well as what you've done to manage your mental health in the past.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College School of Social Work. My journey in mental healthcare has spanned over 15 years, including extensive experience as a practitioner, educator, and supervisor in the field of social work.
My goals for you
My goal is to provide you with a supportive therapeutic environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes. Through our work together, I aim to help you develop coping skills, gain new insights, and work towards improved mental well-being.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will ask questions about your presenting concerns and your history and background. Depending on your needs, I may provide you with homework such as journaling or reading that can help provide context for your next session. This initial meeting will lay the foundation for our therapeutic relationship and help us establish goals for your treatment.
