Hi there, I'm Ashlee!

Welcome in! I have been practicing as a counselor since I graduated from Case Western Reserve University with my Master's in Social Work in 2019. My goal is to be present for you, to assist you in working through any concerns you may have in a calm, understanding, non-judgmental space. I look forward to meeting you!

My focus

I currently work with adults and focus on assisting with depression, anxiety, trauma, individual relationship concerns, personal identity struggles in addition to other areas.

My approach

My approach to therapy is very much client-centered. These sessions are yours; I am here to support you and assist you in the ways you need. I will use my skills, knowledge, and emotional support to assist you in navigating your concerns, and my ultimate hope is that you experience clarity and improvement in symptoms over time.

My communication style

My sessions are very relaxed in nature, focused on my client and their needs. I want everyone to feel comfortable and welcomed coming to counseling, to feel safe to explore whatever struggles you may be experiencing.

My journey to mental healthcare

Out of high school, I got my undergraduate degree in education. I taught for seven years, absolutely loved working with my students, but the politics of education took the joy out of teaching. I wanted to still be in a helping profession and I was inspired by social worker Brene Brown to enter into counseling and obtained my MSSA from CWU in 2019.

My goals for you

During the first session, I assist my clients in identifying several areas they would like to explore during sessions and goals they would like to work toward. During sessions, I allow the client to lead the conversation, and I use my knowledge to guide them in developing insight and tools they can use to assist with their concerns.

Our first session

During the first session, it's important for me to give my clients an opportunity to share with me what is bringing them into counseling. Throughout this session, I also ask questions about family, your past, and current struggles so that I can have a big-picture view of who you are as a person. The more I know about you, the better I can help you.
