Hi there, I'm Darlyn!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I utilize a client-centered approach to help clients work through challenging situations while feeling heard. I have experience working with children and teenagers (and their families) experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety.

I most commonly work with children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma.

My approach

My approach to therapy varies based on the individual needs of the person I am seeing. I want your time to be valuable and individualized to what you need. I commonly utilize CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) approaches to support clients in working through challenges because they align with the client-centered approach.

My communication style

I am calm and supportive when I talk with clients. I provide a safe place to process through individual experiences in a supportive environment with someone to walk alongside you while you work through your situation.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to therapy since I was a child. I have always had a desire to help people. When I was a teenager I was volunteering at a shelter and there were several social workers that encouraged me to look into Social Work when I went to college and I am glad I did! I love being able to see people improve their lives.

I believe you are in control of setting your own goals and I will support you in establishing what you want to accomplish through therapy and I will support you in meeting your own goals.

Our first session

During your first session you should expect the opportunity to give me a snapshot of you and who you are, what you want to work on, and what I can do to help you get there. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions and learn about who I am.
