Hi there, I'm Theresa!

I focus on a compassionate, individual-centered, and humanistic approach to therapy. I want you to feel safe, supported, and seen while we work together. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify and reach their individual goals.

My focus

I work with all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and loss of functioning/Independence. My goal is to walk with you down your therapeutic path, wherever that may take us. I can assist in changing unhelpful thought patterns, reducing harmful behaviors, building distress tolerance, and finding acceptance.

My approach

My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and client-centered. This allows us to work collaboratively to identify your goals and how to best achieve them. Using a person-centered approach to meet you where you are at, while weaving in tools pulled from DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused therapy to support you in gaining coping skills and healing.

My communication style

I cultivate a respectful, empathetic, non-judgemental safe space for people to share and be vulnerable. I am down-to-earth, direct, but gentle with feedback, while also meeting a person where they are at on any given day.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist is based on my own familial and childhood experiences and wanting to better understand how this history can shape who you become, as well as how you can heal and grow from your past into a new, secure, healthier present.

My goals for you

Goals come from you, the individual. Together, we will explore your history, current concerns, and what ultimately brought you to therapy in order to identify how you wish to grow and achieve your goals. My only goal is to create an environment where you feel supported and safe to share and reflect on your own needs and next steps in your journey.

This is a time for you to share what brought you to therapy, how you see us working together, and what you wish to achieve. This is also a time for you to ask questions and share any concerns you may have. My hope for this session is to start to build a solid foundation of trust to provide you the space and safety to be your true authentic self.
