Hi there, I'm Michelle!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of PA. I've been working in the mental health field for over 15 years. I help people identify their triggers and delve into their past to learn how their thoughts affect their behaviors. I try to help people feel confident in their ability to overcome life's challenges and normalize emotions.

I work with adults and couples. I enjoy helping people work through internal conflicts and relationship conflicts.

My approach

I have been utilizing CBT for over 15 years in both private practice and in general mental health and behavioral work. Helping individuals and couples identify how their thoughts relate to their emotions and influence their behaviors bridges the disconnect that tends to occur when people become so consumed by negative thoughts and beliefs.

My communication style

My communication style is assertive and direct. I don't sugarcoat. If you're looking to work on problems and identify solutions, I'm a good fit. However, if you're stuck and don't want to improve your situation and mindset, I may not be the best fit.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've experienced a lot of grief, loss, and trauma. I was also raised by a combat veteran and watched how difficult it has been for him to live with PTSD. I've learned that life can be difficult, but it doesn't mean these difficulties have to define who we are. When we can overcome our problems and learn how resilient we are, we can self-actualize.

I like clients to identify their presenting problem and work together to create goals that will address the problem.

In the first session, I expect you to share your purpose for attending counseling. I want you to determine if I'm a good fit. Together, we create treatment goals.
