My name is Natasha Deshommes, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island. My approach to therapy is client-centered. I am here to help with navigating the journey to healing, self-love, or the very thing that you have a desire to overcome.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapy.
My focus
I typically work with couples (premarital and marriage) counseling, families as well as individuals. I am most comfortable treating anxiety, depression, work, life stressors and grief.
My communication style
I create a safe space where you are comfortable and free to share and express yourself. It feels empowering and motivating to work with me.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey of becoming a therapist was off to a great start while in school and obtaining my hours. As time went on it seemed almost impossible. I'm glad I stayed the course and conquered getting here. Being a therapist has been rewarding, being a part of someone's journey is encouraging in so many ways. I love to see and hear a client's perspective and be a part of them accomplishing their goals.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting by using the SMART goals method which stands for specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. I am here to help you remain accountable and conquer your goals.
My first session with you
Clients should expect to provide insight as well as share their expectations and goals of what they'd like out of the therapeutic journey.
