My communication style

I am gentle and direct. My clients have expressed that they feel comfortable with me as they can sense that I am genuine and sincerely care about them as individuals.

My journey to mental healthcare

I enjoy helping people, so I considered becoming a nurse or a teacher. I quickly discovered, through research and talking with nurses and teachers, that these were not for me. I figured out that I enjoy teaching and helping others, so I asked myself... what can I do to satisfy both of these?

My goals for you

First, I find out what the most important thing they want to address initially is. Then, together we decide how they would like to see things changing and the outcome they would like to achieve. Finally, together we narrow down the steps to reach that goal, any barriers, and a daily task list for reaching each step and eliminating barriers.

Our first session

An introduction that explains the therapy process, and if they have questions about that. Then I might talk a bit about my background and the desire to create an environment where they can feel safe sharing thoughts and feelings without judgment. We talk about building trust in the therapist/patient relationship and how that can improve outcomes.
