Hello! I'm Krystal Klein, LPC, LCDC. My approach combines solution-focus, dialectical and cognitive-behavioral, with a heavy dose of mindfulness. While I support a wide variety of clients. my specialty lies within the LGBTQIA+ community with a focus on trans health.
My approach
My therapeutic style is warm and understanding. I believe in meeting my clients where they're at and allowing them to move at their own pace while simultaneously challenging them to work towards their treatment goals. Most often I utilize Dialectical and Cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients as we work together to decipher the thoughts and emotions that are most troubling.
My focus
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a special place in my heart and my practice for others in the community. When I came into the world of therapy, resources were limited (as they still are in many areas) and I want to make sure I am providing the best support and therapeutic experience I can to help you reconnect with your best self. I am a member of WPATH and follow their Standards of Care for my clients thinking about or currently in transition.
My communication style
When we meet, I hope that you will find a safe place where we can explore these concerns and develop a plan that will have you living your best life. My role is to guide and support you in building the skills and confidence necessary to live your best life. My style is not always “easy”, I will sometimes push you past your comfort zone, but I will always be empathetic and patient.
My journey to mental healthcare
During our intake session, I prefer to take my time to build a safe and trusting space for you. We will go through the symptoms you are experiencing, your physical and mental health, and family history as well as begin working towards developing goals for your therapeutic experience.
My goals for you
I always leaned into the helping fields. When I first began college I learned about an addictions counseling program and was immediately interested. Once I completed that and had worked in the field for about 10 years I became interested in being able to serve a broader population and dig more into mental health. I returned to school for my master's and got my LPC. I still get to work with those struggling with addiction, but I also get to assist others in working through anxiety, depression, relationship issues, gender and sexuality concerns, and others. For me, this is the best of both worlds and I love having the privilege of being invited into my client's lives.
