Hi there, I'm Ramona!

I operate mainly from a strengths perspective. Strengths-based approaches value the capacity, skills, knowledge, connections, and potential in individuals.

My focus

I have experience working with a variety of populations to include individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have experience working with individuals with histories of trauma and/or adverse situations and clients undergoing life transitions to include challenges related to both the young, midlife, and the aging populations.

My approach

My main modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS). This is a non-pathologizing, experiential approach to treatment, whether you are experiencing life transitions, relational problems, crisis situations, trauma, grieving, anxiety, depression, or other mood disorders. I am trained in the Sensorimotor Therapy approach and EMDR.

My communication style

I am always amazed at the amount of courage it takes for people to reach out for help. In light of this, creating a supportive and accepting space is important. A space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. This is what I value most.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a provider is realized in my own history of overcoming personal challenges. My main modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS). With this modality, providers have to do their own emotional and psychological work before they can help others.

My assumption in working with clients is that they already have strengths. My goal is to get them to realize this as we move towards overcoming their current life challenges. My approach is non-pathological.

Our first session

Our initial session together will entail rapport building, understanding what brings you to therapy, understanding your goals, and working together to establish a plan to meet these goals.
