My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist started in undergraduate school. I quickly realized that I did not enjoy placing home confinement bracelets on kids. In addition, it would be difficult for families to trust or let their guard down to allow me to help. I realized that I could do better work with children and families by partnering with them.

My goals for you

It is very important that clients are included in developing their treatment plan and setting their goals for therapy. This allows the client to feel empowered, along with helping to understand their needs are being heard.

Our first session

The first session is information gathering. This is done by allowing the client to tell their story of what brought them into treatment and how their story has been impacting their daily functioning. Clients can expect encouragement, an empathetic ear, and someone who is willing to help.
