Since I was eight years old, my dream has been to help people work on the present (or past) painful experiences to become a better version of themselves. I have experience working with children, couples, families, and individuals. I particularly enjoy helping people overcome feelings of depression and anxiety. I offer faith-based counseling. Tambien ofrezco terapia en Espanol.
My approach
Since my approach is mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), you would often hear me asking, "What are you thinking?" I believe, in most cases, monitoring the way we think is a way to manage problems. Also, I am trained in EMDR.
My focus
I have had the privilege of working with people experiencing sadness, emptiness, hopelessness or searching for purpose. I have found that clients who incorporate their faith in their treatment have a higher rate of success. I offer Christian-based counseling. My first language is Spanish, and I enjoy working with clients who share my language.
My communication style
I honor my client's life stories by actively listening. Eventually, I take notes to prevent myself from interrupting and to remember more accurately what is discussed in therapy.
My journey to mental healthcare
At the age of eight, I received counseling. My therapist had previously been in a car accident and needed help from several apparatus (in the eyes of an eight-year-old) to be able to walk. At that early age, I learned that every life could be a life full of meaning and purpose with the right help.
My goals for you
Each client has a different goal for their treatment. Therefore, "Success" and "Progress" are usually measured by each client.
My first session with you
During the first session, I usually like to discuss physical symptoms and the reasons that bring each client to therapy.
