Hi there, I'm Denetria!

Hi there, I'm Denetria, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Who is passionate about assisting others to become as healthy mentally and emotionally as they can. I am based in San Antonio, TX. I am Trauma-Focused trained and in Prolonged Exposure. However, I use treatment modalities that fit the need of each client. I became a therapist after therapy changed my life. I have been a therapist since 2006, and I love every single interaction with each client. I enjoy helping others become the best person they can be. The first session is always used to begin the relationship-building process, simultaneously while I discover what your therapeutic needs are in the initial phase. Please know that each individual is different, so each session looks different with the same goals in mind. Therapy is not a one size fit all modality.

My approach

I am a straightforward person (in an extremely respectful way). I always want my clients to feel heard and validated in the most authentic manner. I communicate at a level appropriate to my clients' comprehension level. I do this to ensure that my client feels comfortable in discussing the matters of their heart and pain. I have excellent communication skills and use effective listening. I want each interaction to have meaning. The treatment modalities utilized are based on the individual need of each client. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in almost all sessions as I feel it is the foundation of moving forward to a healthier YOU!

My focus

Work well with individuals from ages 16- 99. There is currently no diagnosis that I haven't worked with or feel that I can't successfully work with.
