I am a licensed professional counselor. As a Korean-born woman, I have a unique cultural background but was raised in France. I have made the U.S.-Mexico border my home for the past two decades. I am a very effective counselor because I have the inner gift to connect with my clients very quickly. This facilitates them to disclose a lot of information they have never shared with anyone.
My approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from cognitive behavioral, solution focused, existential and humanistic modalities. I provide culturally sensitive counseling in a caring environment.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, families and adolescents ages 13-17. I treat many disorders, including depression, anxiety, codependence, trauma, dysfunctional childhood, marital issues, self-esteem, anger, bullying, stress, substance use, and career challenges. My specialties also include LGBTQIA+ and transgender issues.
My communication style
I communicate with warmth, directness, and cultural sensitivity. My approach is caring yet focused on helping you make positive changes. I listen attentively and without judgment to understand your unique perspective.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you uncover your potential, cope with life's challenges, and move toward fulfilling your goals. I aim to provide a safe, supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain new insights and skills, and make positive changes.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will focus on getting to know you, understanding your unique situation and what brought you to therapy. We'll discuss your background, current challenges, and goals. This will help lay the foundation for our therapeutic relationship and inform the direction of future sessions. You can expect me to listen attentively with empathy and without judgment.
