I am a self-motivated and progress-driven Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 8 years of professional work experience. With an extensive background in Nursing, Organizational Management, and Small Business management. Over the years, I have been driven by core values to become an essential agent of change.
My approach
My Therapy style and approach draw influence from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. CBT aims to help you identify and explore the ways your emotions and thoughts can affect your actions. Once you notice these patterns, you can begin learning how to change your behaviors and develop new coping strategies. CBT addresses the here and now and focuses less on the past. For some conditions in some people, other forms of psychotherapy are equally or even more effective.
My focus
My experience comes from providing individual and group counseling for teenagers, kids, and adults with a variety of presenting issues, including LGBT-related issues, depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, trauma, domestic violence, and sex trafficking; my work experiences have allowed me to strengthen my abilities as a therapeutic trauma-informed therapist, Leadership, and crisis intervention. I approach therapeutic relationships with multicultural sensitivity. Most of my clinical experience includes working with youth and adults Africa-America, Asian- America, Hispanic, and African. I make it a priority to learn all I can to improve what I know and what I can offer to my clients. I think this is one of the personal attributes that set me apart.
My communication style
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
