Hi there, I'm Lindsey!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia with 7 years of mental health experience. My work experience includes working for Community Services Board (CSB), school system, telehealth outpatient therapy, crisis intervention and prevention, and Veteran's Hospital.

My focus

My clinical expertise is anxiety, depressive, and mood disorders, as well as clients who are struggling with life transitions and stress. I try to provide a collaborative approach with my clients to help them achieve their goals and help them be the best versions of themselves.

My approach

I have experience working with people of all ages and walks of life to provide them tools and strategies to become the best versions of themselves. Having experience with all ages and different client demographics has helped me to be flexible with my therapeutic approach as well as focus on the client's needs and wants.

My communication style

My communication style as a therapist would best be described as open and honest. I also provide my clients with a safe space for them to feel comfortable to share their thoughts, feelings, and emotions without judgement. I provide all my clients with active listening, validation, and empathy.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a provider was longer than I originally intended when I pursued higher education. As a young college student I became uninterested in several majors, took several breaks from college, then had a "heart to heart" with my aunt who is also a LCSW. She gave me the courage and interest to enter the mental health field.

My goals for you

One of the last questions that I ask my clients in our first session together is what goals they hope to achieve by choosing to seek therapy. Based on your response I will introduce skills, techniques, and interventions throughout sessions to help you achieve your goals and provide feedback as needed.

For the first session I use this time to get to know my client, answer any questions, and build rapport to attempt to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship.
